Having last operated EE Lightning F.6s from Tengah, Singapore, 74 Sguadron was re-formed on October 19,1984 at Wattisham, Suffolk, eguipped with former US Navy F-4J Phantoms. The unit's badge is a snarling tiger's face and its motto is 'I Fear No Man'. By January 1991, the F-4J(UK)s were exchanged for Rolls-Royce Spey-powered Phantom FGR.2s, but these served on only until October 1,1992 when 74 disbanded at Wattisham.
