April Fool's Day, 1943 - life at Duxford would never be the same again. Hitler's plan to invade England had failed, but now an American invasion was swinging into action, depositing the handsome young bucks of the 78th Fighter Group (FG), Eighth Air Force (AF), into sleepy old Duxford. Hungry for adventure with high spirits and easy smiles, they fought the war by day and partied by night, taking both Goering and the local girls by storm.
