Rare Italian biplane preserved

Avro Cadet VH-PRT is to be restored by airliner captain Darryl Hill in southern Australia. Once complete, it will join his other, airworthy Cadet, VH-AEJ. The biplane is believed to have rolled out of the Avro factory as airframe 1067 during 1938 or 1939. It entered service with the RAAF as A6-32 at 1 Aircraft Depot, Laverton, Victoria, during April 1939, before moving to 1 Flying Training School at Point Cook. It was later transferred to Central Flying School, also at Point Cook, where it remained until September 1944. After further use with 8 OTU it was withdrawn from military service in March 1945.
