News that a former RAF Curtiss P-40 Kittyhawk had been discovered in the Egyptian Sahara desert was reported by the international media this month and has caused quite a stir. The former 260 Squadron fighter seems to be well preserved and tentative plans are being made to bring it back to the UK. The most suitable and likely home for it would be with the RAF Museum at Hendon, possibly alongside Messerschmitt Bf 109 'Black 6' - a Luftwaffe veteran from the Egyptian campaign.
