Long-term 'Val' restoration

Planes of Fame founder Ed Maloney has vowed that the Chino, California-based organisation's long-term restoration of an Aichi D3A Val will one day result in a flying aircraft. It is reported that slow but steady progress on the Japanese carrier-borne dive-bomber is being made. The aircraft was previously rebuilt by Bob Diemert, using tail surfaces from an NA Harvard. No date has been set for the completion of the Val.
