Bantam biplane goes Dutch

Koolhoven FK-23 Bantam K-123 has been put on display at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Built in the UK in 1919 by Dutch aircraft designer and entrepreneur Frits Koolhoven, the agile FK-23s acquired the nickname 'Bantam'. The Rijksmuseum's example was previously based at Aviodrome in Lelystad, fulfilling the Amsterdam-based attraction's requirement for a small aircraft of Dutch heritage. Initially registered G-EACN in the UK on May 29,1919, it was one of 14 Bantams built. The museum's example has been reconstructed using more than 90% of the original, plus the wings of G-EAFN (later K-155).
