I was thrilled to read Colonel Adair's story about combat in the P-40 in the July issue. Very little has been written about the exploits of the 80th Fighter Wing in Assam, so this piece was very welcome. Your readers might want to know that the 80th is still going strong. The unit is now known as the 80th Flying Training Wing, based at Sheppard AFB, Texas. It has the vital role of training NATO's future fighter pilots in the programme known as Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training. I was privileged to serve as an instructor pilot with the 88th and 89th Flying Training Sguadrons from 1983 to 1987.1 took the attached photos of an 89th FTS Cessna T-37B in February 1987. The unit now operates the T-6A. Thank you for an excellent magazine.
