Avro Shackleton arrives at Bruntingthorpe

The first sections of Avro Shackleton MR.3 WR974 arrived at Bruntingthorpe on October 2. Formerly a long-term resident at the Gatwick Air Museum, the aircraft was dismantled and moved by GJD Services to Leicestershire where it will become part of the airfield's large Cold War-themed collection. The nose got there at around 5.30pm, followed by the centre section and wing box on a separate truck around 30 minutes later. The rest of the airframe is likely to have arrived by the time FlyPast is published, and work to re-assemble it has already begun.
