Classics at Kirkby

The eighth airshow at East Kirkby attracted a near capacity crowd of around 5,000. Those present were treated to an afternoon of superb flying at Lincolnshire's largest independent airshow. The event, on Saturday, August 6, supported the restoration of resident Avro Lancaster B.VII NX611 Just Jane -some major work on the airframe will be undertaken this winter. Highlights included a stunning routine by Hawker Hurricane R4118 and Douglas C-47A Skytrain Drag 'em Oot The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight provided Lancaster PA474 and two Spitfires, and excellent displays were also flown by a Buecker Bestmann and North American P-51D Mustang Janie.
