Currently maintained and flown at Camarillo, California, by the Commemorative Air Force's Southern California Wing (CAF SOCAL), Supermarine Spitfire Mk.(ⅪⅤ)e NH749 is one of a dozen World War Two-era aircraft currently on the wing's roster. Built by Supermarine and assembled at its Aldermaston satellite plant in Berkshire, NH749 first flew in late 1944 and was delivered to 33 Maintenance Unit (MU) on February 23, 1945. Moving on to 215 MU on May 20, 1945, NH749 missed the war in Europe and was shipped off to join the RAF's South East Asia Command in India on July 2, 1945.
