The Abingdon Air & Country Show on Sunday May 1 continued a tradition for excellent family shows and skilled flying at the Oxfordshire airfield. In its earlier guise as an RAF base, Abingdon held big annual displays until 1990. The Army took over in 1992, and the airshow was revived in 2000. Run by volunteers, it is traditionally one of the earliest events on the UK calendar and a must-see for those avid enthusiasts and photographers who have missed their regular 'fix' over the winter months.
