Breitling's DC-3 in September entered the record books by becoming the oldest airplane to circumnavigate the globe. The journey began last March in France, spanning 210 days with 50 stops along the way. The 77-year-old airplane touched down 13 times in the United States in July and August, including a visit to Oshkosh, before continuing eastbound over the North Atlantic to arrive back in Europe. We met up with the crew on its stopover in New York, where the famed Swiss watchmaker hosted us at a party at the Breitling Boutique on Madison Avenue. Five hundred limited-edition Navitimer Breitling DC-3 watches that made the journey aboard the airplane go on sale this fall.
