Birds of a Feather: Park Hawk & Slow Hawk

Sean Kinkade's Park Hawk R/C or-nithopter is dynamite. Even with the competition from the brilliant flying of all the 3D electrics at last year's NEAT Fair, the Park Hawk almost stole the show. The people who flew them had bought them at the Fair, assembled them overnight, and were merrily flapping their way around the next morning. Even though these earlier kits, when his company was known as Kinkade R/C, had some deficiencies, the resulting plane worked just as advertised. Since that time Sean has refined the kit, and what is presented in this review is a look and evaluation of the current Park Hawk, now recently joined by its larger slow flight brother, the Slow Hawk. Both have been refined to the point where it really will take only a few hours to put one together. The longest part of the process will be adapting electrical connectors to your preference, and charging the supplied 720 mAh or 830 mAh nickel metal hydride battery.
