The Brodak Fly-In stands alone among the major national control-line fly-ins and contests as a great promoter of the sport of control-line flying, in all its forms. In the extended backyard of John Brodak, in the little town of Carmichaels, PA, are to be found more susceptible spectators, more opportunities for youngsters to observe and participate, more exotic and fun flying machines, and more old-time flyers poised to rediscover the sport than in any other event. Held once again on Father's Day weekend (but now, in its ninth iteration, for a full five days), it is truly a multi-generational fun fly-in. It is neat to see ever-taller sons and daughters returning year after year—and rising in the standings to sometimes overshadow their dads and granddads.
