This month we celebrate the life of Frank Zaic, who left us at the end of May of this year at the age of 92. Frank was a living legend for more years than most of us have been alive. His contributions range from his theoretical work on circular airflow, to his Model Aeronautical Yearbooks, to a multi-year member of the U.S. Wakefield team, to being a national record holder, to being one of the founders of the Academy of Model Aeronautics, and to founding Jasco, one of the premiere kit manufacturers of all times. Along the way he also designed many, many outstanding gliders and rubber powered ships; started the modeling publication Model Aviation; wrote technical papers for the National Free Flight Society; designed the AMA elliptical emblem; and won more awards for his contributions to modeling throughout the world than most of us knew existed.
