We've had a very blustery winter and spring here in Oklahoma, with literally months of unrelenting wind, and almost no pauses between weather fronts of one kind or another moving through. All of this turbulence had given me a bad case of whatever the modeling equivalent of cabin fever is—until yesterday. The wind began to die down about 4 p.m. (on a Saturday, mind you), and stayed under six miles per hour through noon on Sunday. With two new winter builds to test fly, I high-tailed it to my 80-acre sanctuary and put up flight after flight until dark on Saturday, and came back early the next morning and flew until noon. No street junkie had ever had or needed a more timely fix. I knew exactly how Charles Shultz' favorite beagle, Snoopy, felt when he did his dance of joy. In fact, the few head of cattle who share the site with me heard more than one "Alright!" shouted to the heavens as planes grooved upwards in perfect power patterns. Sometimes life just doesn't get any better than that.
