Once upon a time, the Falcon 56 and Senior Falcon ruled as kings of the R/C trainer world. They were basic 4-channel balsa planes that served a generation and more of budding R/C pilots as their stepping stone into the world of radio control models. Their current successors are a far cry from those simpler machines, but none rule the beginner market like they did once. Today's trainers are far more sophisticated in the materials they use, and the innovative features they employ to soften and speed up the learning curve. One of the newest trainers around is the Multiplex Magister. Made entirely of molded Elapor foam, the model comes in two versions. The first is the M214193 Standard version that needs assembly, radio, charger, and powerplant. The other option is the M264195 Deluxe version that comes just about ready to fly with radio, battery, geared electric motor, charger, manual, and a CD with assembly tips as well as some video clips showing the Magister flying.
