It was sleek and speedy, and a nimble flyer. Here's this illustrious WW II twin designed for two Speed 400s and three channels. The mark of a legendary aircraft is one that excelled in roles never envisioned by its designers. The Mosquito, dubbed "The Wooden Wonder" and "The Termites Dream", was constructed mostly of wood and was originally conceived as an unarmed bomber. Fabricated using huge molds in which a balsa core was sandwiched between plywood skinning, the "Mossie" was intended to use as few strategic materials as possible and to take advantage of England's woodworking trade.
