Electric Flight

Hi fliers, the 28th edition of the Weak Signals R/C Show, or Toledo as we call it, had some type of electric offering at almost every booth! I arrived on Friday morning after a typical severe weather laden drive. Some of you may remember on April 9, 1999 (a Toledo Friday) a tornado tore across Blue Ash, Ohio causing death and destruction. The Swap Shop, which included some neat cottage industry offerings, was my first stop. An interesting biplane that caught my eye was Bill Lowe's Ghost ARF. At only 4 ounces, it has a 30-inch wing span and uses a 14-gram outrunner and 250-360 mAh packs. It has laser-cut hardware and all the needed carbon, string and music wire to complete. While Bill's design looked nice, I was able to see him fly the Ghost later that evening at the indoor fly where the performance was outstanding! Tim Sandor, of Model Rectifier Corporation, announced the new Kokam state of the art 35C 3600 mAh Li-Po which should be available now!
