This plane appealed to me as a model subject because of its large wing area, relatively long nose moment and rather small fuselage cross section. Besides, I have developed a strong affection for Martinsyde aircraft through the Buzzard, after having built a number of them in various sizes, all of which have flown well. The Buzzard, arguably the finest plane from the WWI period, was not designed by Tony Fletcher, but by George Handasyde, but still retained many of the features Fletcher had used in his designs.
