Maybe some of you remember Don McGovern. Larry Kruse certainly does. It seems Don was the "compleat" modeler, designing, building and flying a fleet of his own airplanes. Most of them added to his distinction, and that is probably why he was a longtime Editor of Flying Models. As a matter of fact, he started as Editor sometime around 1960-1961, and came with the magazine when Hal Carstens bought it in 1969. He stayed with it until the late 1970s when he was replaced by the team of Bob Hoeckele and subsequently, Bob Hunt.
