Hello again, and welcome back! As I sat here, in front of my computer screen, trying desperately to think of things to write about, my mind drifted continuously to electric motors/Ky/amps/watts and ounces of thrust. Huh? one might say. But like it or not, electric powered aircraft are here to stay, and understanding the lingo is not necessarily intuitive, but needed to understand the systems.My thought pattern might be better understood by knowing that recently I spent some time talking with Robert Wagoner of the Electric Jet Factory talking about-no surprise here-things electric. The availability and variety of small EDP motors and fan units has exploded, and almost all of them work well. We have motors that will turn a 60mm-or-so fan unit in excess of 60,000 rpm, using a three-cell Li-Po and an inexpensive speed control, and most importantly-models designed for these combinations.
