Twenty-five years ago, the "new propulsion system", known as the ducted fan, had only recently arrived on the modeling scene. En- gine setups, tuned pipe length and tuning, and a myriad of other problems faced those early modelers trying to fly a strange breed of airplanes known as "jets." Enter the guys from Austin, TX who had the foresight to decide to get together for a weekend so that ideas, setups, scratchbuilding tips and socializing could happen; and thus was born the granddaddy of all jet rallies.
