After taking a look at my list of articles I realized that I had not explored the year 1964. So, off to my archives I went to find out what was going on in R/C in that year.rnI was struck with the cover photo on the April-May 1964 issue of Flying Models and it brought back some great memories. There was Bob Dunham and Ed Kazmirski on the deck of the U.S. Navy carrier Lexington just after a flight demonstration off the deck. Yes, those were the days when the Navy sponsored the Nats and flew a planeload of Nats winners to Pensacola, Florida for a whirlwind tour of their training facilities, dockside R/C and Controline flight demonstrations off the 900-foot deck, and then to sea for a day of full scale prop and jet flight operations.
