摘要

It is almost impossible for me to believe that this column marks the beginning of my 38th year of writing for this magazine. The first article I published in Flying Models in March of 1973 was entitled, "From Theory to Trophy", and detailed preparations for being competitive in the Hand Launch Glider event. While the competitive fire has become a flickering ember of itself in nearly four decades, the joy of being associated with freeflight and this magazine has not lost its spark, thanks to the staff of Flying Models, the readers who let their interest and appreciation be known, and those many fellow modelers who have shared their own experiences and projects through this column. With the continued support of these fine people and the larger freeflight community, we will now officially begin the next 38 years!
