I'm reminded of the line that old age and cunning will beat youth and skill when I look at the photo of the Gara-mi Skylark. It's a 320-square inch inverted gull wing design first published in Air Trails magazine in September 1940. I've gotten in trouble with some of my old timer friends before by suggesting that some of these early designs by young men or high school boys with little formal aeronautical training "weren't so hot". As you can see, the Skylark is pretty, but with those very narrow wing tips, it's got to be a tip stalling fool.
