Wayyyyyyy back in the 1920s (1923 and 1924 to be exact), there existed a contest in Merry Olde England (the Lympne Trials) that created a lot of interest in small, light, low powered planes. They were simple and flew on engines as small as 10 hp. A few have been modeled over the years.
