50 years ago, in the Bismarckstrasse of Tubingen, Germany, Reinhold Beitlich founded the, Chemische Fabrik Tubingen' (Chemical Factory Tubingen). Today, this company is represented all over the world and with 1300 employers has an annual turnover of 290 Mill. Euro. This year, the 50th birthday of the CHT was celebrated in a big way. For the sweat-shirt to fall softly, that the business shirt doesn't scratch despite its smoothness, that the T-shirt is printed and the snow dress and the fleece-shirt keep warm, nowadays comes naturally. But in order to fulfil all those requirements, textile fibres have to undergo an extensive pre-treatment. And this pre-treatment or 'finishing' requires chemicals which since 50 years are produced by Messrs. CHT. During this period of time not only the requirements of the customer on textiles have increased but also the number of subsidiaries and the turnover of the CHT. Today, 20 companies all over the world belong to the CHT, the headquarters of which are still based in Tubingen, Germany.
