This year's Scoperta was held from May 4-7 in Chiasso, Switzerland, and once again, the dates and location chosen for this trade show proved to be superb. According to the exhibitors' floor map, a total of 17 companies presented flocked textile rolls at their booths, and with the exception of Kadifeteks Mensucat Sanayi A.S./Turkey, which stated that it did not show any flocked goods at its booth, attendees were able to see the products and feel their high quality for themselves. It is precisely this high quality that enabled former exhibitors to hold their own against competition from Asia and, even more importantly, build a stronger presence in the currently hot Eastern European market. It was surprising that no one this author spoke with was concerned about Asian competition, although everyone knows about the capacity available there, particularly in China.
