摘要

Because safety requirements have (necessarily) a high priority, pertinent regulations specify requirements for the design and operation of electrostatic coating systems, particularly as they relate to HV power supply. Euronorm EN 50223:2001 already requires regular testing of HV power safety devices in section 7.3. This standard is currently undergoing a routine revision to incorporate the newest available information. We expect that the criteria detailed below will become part of the new version of the standard. In addition to relevant technical requirements, these criteria will require a) devices that automatically shut off HV power in the event of an impermissible increase in the operating current; b) devices that discharge the spraying systems and interrupt the flock supply; c) devices that ensure that once the HV is turned off, all parts in contact with HV power have discharged to an energy of less than 350 mJ before anyone can access the area; d) devices that are activated prior to the cleaning of parts in contact with HV with flammable solvents in order to ensure that discharge energy remains below 0.24 mJ.
