Steering my country to safer skies

At three years old, I stood behind an old turboprop passenger aircraft when it was starting up. When I felt the rumble in my chest and my parents needed to hold me so I didn't blow away... I knew. It was better than a ride at an amusement park. I was a co-op for Goodyear Aerospace. I did many things, including wheel and brake testing. It was a hoot, especially when a DC-10 tyre exploded in the lab. Right out of college, I became a flight-test engineer at Patuxent River naval air station. It offered low pay, but was the best job I could ever hope for.
