PPT: Going forward with vertical integration

The flexible packaging landscape is dominated by converting giants who extrude, print, laminate, slit and convert myriad bag and pouch structures-in some cases, all these processes appear under one roof. On the other side of the highly polarized flexible packaging spectrum, a collection of small converters often succeed by excelling in a specific flexible packaging process or two, perhaps serving a niche market. That said, striking the balance between vertical integration and focused, high-end innovation must border on impossible, right? Not so, according to one Midwestern converter.
