According to at least one management consultant, every employee performance review should have a goal in mind―a goal other than simply filling in all the blanks. Mike Deblieux, a management consultant with 20 years of experience, is the co-author of four books on employee performance reviews and documenting discipline. Deblieux says the review should aim to cover three things on the most basic level: What the employee's job is, how the job has been done in the past, and how the job should be done in the future. And that's it.
