FLEETSolutions is the flagship of NAFA, the premier organization of the vehicle fleet industry, and is committed to meeting the diverse and unique needs of fleet management professionals by providing useful, timely and informative articles in all areas of the profession. NAFA has determined that nearly everything a fleet manager needs to know to be an expert in the field can be boiled down to eight disciplines: Asset Management, Business Management, Financial Management, Fleet Information Management, Maintenance Management, Risk Management, Vehicle Fuel Management and Professional Development. Each of these disciplines is subdivided into core competencies. For example, the Risk Management discipline consists of the competencies Insurance, Subrogation, Fleet Driver Training & Vehicle Safety, Crash Management and Motor Vehicle Records. Someone who has mastered each of these competencies is an expert in Risk Management; someone who has mastered all eight disciplines is an expert in fleet management.
