Automatic toll collection has created a new burden for fleet managers. As cities and states seek ways to balance their budgets, roads that once were free are starting to utilize automatic toll collection to generate revenue, yet numerous flaws have plagued these systems from the beginning. Problems such as incorrectly identified license plates, toll infraction notices mailed to the wrong address, inoperable toll tags, and toll infractions reported in areas where no fleet vehicles were located are all problems that NAFA Members faced, according to an informal survey.
