The thirteenth annual fire Related Research and Developments conference held up the tradition of the much-valued event by including a wide range of presentations, not only looking at many different subjects but also representing both academic and more response-centred areas of Fire and Rescue Service research.This tradition was also represented in the entries that reached the judging stage of the 2008 FIRE/Gore Research Excellence Award, ranging from in-depth analyses of fire safety law to studies relating to firefighter safety and command efficiency on the fireground.
