Rhyl community fire station, the first purpose built facility of its kind in Wales, opened its doors to the public in September last year, and was officially opened by Rt Hon Rhodri Morgan AM, First Minister, in October.rnThe Community Fire Station, sited on Coast Road, Rhyl, is a fully operational fire station and also offers a range of community facilities including meeting rooms, which can be hired out by local groups or businesses. Investment from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, a grant from the Welsh Assembly Government and sponsorship from local companies including British Telecom and Indesit made the £2.5 million remodelling project possible.
