Lincolnshire Hailed For 'dramatic Improvement'

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue staff are celebrating as the Audit Commission has hailed its dramatic improvement in the past three years.rnThe service has been officially recognised as being 'good' by the Audit Commission, a rating which means it has made a virtually unprecedented move of three categories up the ratings ladder from its former 'poor' rating.rnThe findings highlighted in the new report include that the service has strong leadership from its chief fire officer and management team and has made improvements tornthe service resulting in reductions in the number of deaths and serious injuries due to fires in people's homes. The report also states that the service has clear plans for future improvement. CFO Mike Thomas said: "The government has also praised our fire prevention work, partnerships with other organisations and efforts in areas such as road safety and helping vulnerable people in the community to stay safe. I would like to say a massive thank-you to all the employees of Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue who have worked hard during the pastrnthree years to turn this service around from one which was one of the worst to one which is now one of the most improved."
