Elite triathlete prepares for world championships

Jacqui Slack, a 27 year-old from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has served at both Newcastle and Stafford Fire Stations. Since 2003 Jacqui has been competing in triathlons - in 2009 she requested a one-year sabbatical to allow her to progress further in her training. Jacqui's achievements in 2010 include winning the Strathclyde Park Elite Triathlon European Cup and coming second in the British Triathlon Super Series. In 2010 she asked if she could extend her sabbatical for an additional year. This was granted and in 2011 Jacqui is hoping to win the World Mountain Bike Triathlon Championships, win the British Triathlon Super Series and qualify for the Elite World Championships in Beijing.
