Insight into future of incident command

The North East Incident Command Conference 2012 brought together delegates from all four North East fire and rescue services at Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service headquarters on July 1 7 for the region's first ever incident command conference.Following the hugely successful CFOA Incident Command Conference, the North East event was developed to provide officers at all levels with the opportunity to reflect on what is one of the most critical aspects of an operational officer's role -command and control at incidents.Drawing on insights from speakers with extensive operational experience and in-depth knowledge, delegates were presented with a journey through the current incident command system and thoughts on its future, together with an understanding of command decision making. Case studies on lessons from critical incidents within the UK were also presented to stimulate discussion and debate.
