A little light reading? Try the National Framework

The draft National Framework was published on December 1 3, just in time for the dedicated fire officer to read over Christmas. Unfortunately for that poor soul, they will have to have hoped Father Christmas also left them a copy of War and Peace. The new Framework contains less than half the amount of words as the last one and compared to the 2006-08 version, it is just a pamphlet. That should not surprise anyone within the Service. Ever since the election, the government's focus has been on less regulation, more local decision-making and responsibility on public services to make the decisions on what they do, in accordance with their communities' views.
