Eight to one: the Scottish training challenge

As we look at changing from eight services to a single Scottish Service, this report will look at the history of the Scottish Fire Services College as an education centre and how it has adapted in recent years to deliver modern teaching, training, learning and assessment needs. Since it first opened its doors in Cullane in 1954 the Scottish Fire Services College (SFSC) has pioneered the provision of training for all Scottish recruits and established learning and development courses for existing staff in Scotland's fire and rescue services.
