Hertfordshire and Norfolk introduce the 'Buddy Link'

This creative and ground-breaking initiative began in May 2010, and enables each fire services to benefit from a high level of resilience and the capability to assist each other with incident management when receiving high volumes of emergency calls. Emergency calls are handled quickly and effectively, and efficient mobilisation takes place even when call volumes are high, or where the resources of one of the control rooms are being stretched.
