The cancellation of the FiReControl project by the Government may be resulting in a positive re-evaluation of the needs and priorities for the UK Fire and Rescue Services. Fire Minister Bob Neill MP announced in February 2011 that this decision meant that Fire and Rescue Authorities would be empowered to review existing arrangements and at the same time encouraged to look at ways of working together on a collaborative basis.
