Fire services assisting with flood rescue in Bosnia

The team of 33 firefighters, from Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Hampshire, Lincolnshire, Merseyside, Mid and West Wales, West Midlands and West Sussex, is equipped with a range of water response equipment including four rigid inflatable boats. Bosnia and Herzegovina has been experiencing heavy rain which has caused large scale flooding and landslides, with water levels in some areas reported to be up to the second floor of homes. Fifty thousand people have been directly affected by the flooding and its knock-on effects, with one million people living in the affected areas. More than 6,000 people have been evacuated from their homes so far.
