Call for protection against key cause of domestic fires

Leading safety charity Electrical Safety First has launched a manifesto which argues for a range of measures to improve electrical safety, particularly for tenants in the private rented sector (PRS) and other vulnerable groups. "Almost three quarters of all electrical fires are caused by electrical products - including the type of appliance regularly supplied by landlords, such as dishwashers, cookers and fridge-freezers", explains Phil Buckle, Director General of Electrical Safety First.
