PBI fibre will be the first line of defence in the outer fabric as the main component of Hainsworth's Titan 1260 outer shell, which optimises strength and comfort while minimising the risk of heat stress to firefighters. PBI's fire hoods, which play a critical role in the protection of firefighters, are lightweight and comfortable as well as being highly resistant to heat and flame. Flame resistance is inherent in the fabric and cannot be washed out.
