John is currently the Deputy Chief Fire Officer for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, having joined from his position as Assistant Chief Fire Officer from Gloucestershire in 2018. John has extensive experience and brings with him strong leadership and a wealth of knowledge. His current role has helped Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service achieve an overall good outcome following an inspection by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Fire and Rescue Services last year. One of John's first tasks will be to appoint a new Deputy Chief Fire Officer to fill his current position.
