FIRESA Council Representing Sector Suppliers

FIRESA Council represents the Fire Industry Association's fire and rescue suppliers. The FIA AGM a year ago saw the FIRESA Council Chairman of several years, Derek Gotts, become the Chairman of the entire Fire Industry Association while James Jones and Lesley Routh-Jones were elected to Chair and Vice respectively of FIRESA Council.It was also a year ago that we spoke of the early days of the National Fire Chiefs Council, creation of an FRS Inspectorate, Police and Crime Commissioner/Mayoral control of FRAs and greater collaboration within the FRSs and with other 'blue light' services. All of these are now more developed and more firmly embedded as part of the new fire and rescue paradigm, although continuing to evolve. What is important for us and our members is that FIRESA Council has further strengthened its position and influence within these advances as well as a number of newer developments.
