More than 70 delegates took the opportunity to attend, the Fire Industry Council's recent conference held in January at the Houses of Parliament. The topic under discussion was'The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order -The Prospects From the Bridgehead'. A a variety of different perspectives, including views from the government, the fire industry, the fire service, business, the insurance industry and the building industry were presented. Andy Jack, Head of the Fire Safety Legislation Branch, Fire Policy Division, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) began with an explanation of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.
